Adult Inpatient Treatment
Tower Behavioral Health is a leading provider of inpatient mental health treatment in Reading, Pennsylvania. In our adult inpatient program, we serve patients age 18 and older who are suffering from mental health concerns, including bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, and borderline personality disorder. Our team also treats people who are struggling with addictions to substances such as alcohol, opioids, marijuana, and cocaine. The goal of our adult inpatient program is to help individuals stabilize, learn how to manage their symptoms, and gain a sense of hope for their futures. The typical length of stay in this level of care is between 10 and 14 days but can vary depending on the progress a person makes during treatment. During this time, patients can participate in group therapy, family meetings, and leisure time. Depending on their unique needs, a person’s treatment plan may also include one-on-one meetings with mental health professionals, psychoeducation, and dance/movement therapy. Adolescent Inpatient Treatment
Young people who are affected by mental health disorders often need a specialized approach to treatment that allows them to process their feelings and experiences in an age-appropriate way. Trauma, bullying, and the stress of trying to find their place in the world can play a role in how mental health conditions affect adolescents. Because a young person’s brain is still developing, the symptoms they experience may present themselves differently than they do in adults. If they don’t receive treatment early on, their symptoms will likely worsen, and they may struggle to find ways to cope as they grow older. We provide inpatient treatment for adolescents ages 14-17, offering them treatment options that are designed specifically for their stage in life. As part of their treatment plans, adolescent patients get two hours of schooling each day to ensure that they don’t fall behind on their education. Our team works closely with parents, teachers, and other caregivers to help promote a streamlined continuity of care. We understand that staying in a hospital can be scary for young people, so we have created a safe and secure environment where we hope that they will feel at ease. Treatment Approach
At Tower Behavioral Health, we understand that mental health concerns are difficult for people of all ages to manage without professional help. To make sure that we can provide the tailored care a person needs, prospective patients complete a comprehensive assessment before beginning treatment with us. We conduct this assessment to identify the full scope of their needs so that we can craft an individualized treatment plan that is right for them. Based on the results of their initial assessment, our staff may provide services such as individual therapy, family therapy (as needed), group therapy, experiential therapies, detoxification, medication management, and basic medical care. Treatment may also incorporate a variety of treatment modalities, such as motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). We work closely with each patient, encouraging them to express their thoughts and concerns as they navigate treatment.
