About
Are you suffering from trauma, loss, or stress?
Do you find that you just can’t let go of your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors? Wouldn’t you like to just put it all behind you and move on to living a happier and fuller life? We can help you do just that. We work with adults, children, and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, grief and loss, PTSD, trauma, behavioral challenges, stress, and much more. Whether caused by childhood abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, betrayal, divorce, death, critical illness, military combat, violent crime, motor vehicle accident, discrimination, LGBTQ struggles, relationship issues, or something else. We understand. We care. And we have the clinical expertise to help you.
Healing is better than coping.
Many therapists will work with you on ways to manage your symptoms, for example: coping skills, yoga, mindfulness, biofeedback, DBT, etc. That approach can be helpful, but it requires ongoing effort, and only goes so far. When you heal from the psychological wounds caused by past trauma or loss, you don’t have those symptoms to manage anymore; you get profound and lasting relief. We use the most efficient of the proven-effective trauma healing therapies: progressive counting (PC) and eye movement desensitization & reprocessing (EMDR). Our founder and executive director, Ricky Greenwald, PsyD, is a leading expert in EMDR, and the developer of PC as well as our intensive therapy model. All of our expert therapists are extensively trained, supervised, and experienced in intensive trauma therapy.
Intensive trauma therapy gets results quickly.
We will work with you to get through your treatment as soon as possible. We only offer intensive therapy, in which you work individually with your therapist for full (9-5 or equivalent) consecutive days, to get results quickly. Our treatment generally takes a few days to a couple of weeks, compared to months or years of hour-per-week therapy. Research has found intensive trauma-focused therapy to be just as effective as the weekly format, while being much quicker. Following a telephone intake, each client is carefully matched with a compassionate therapist who is skilled in helping people with their particular issues. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not cover intensive therapy yet. We are a non-profit organization and as such strive to have low-cost options available. Pricing depends on which therapist is selected, and the number of days needed. If you are a crime victim, you may be eligible for Victims Compensation funding to cover treatment costs (we can assist you with this). We offer free phone consultation, and we invite you to see if our therapy is a good match for you. Please call or email us today.
