Maybe you sense that your teen needs a higher level of care than weekly therapy can provide. Or perhaps your teen just got out of an inpatient facility, and you think they could use a step- down program to continue their care. Regardless of what level of treatment would suit your teen best, you’ve recognized that their mental health is struggling. They might be dealing with a high level of depression, anxiety, suicidality, or trauma. At The Secure Attachment Initiative, we offer comprehensive mental health services for teens who are dealing with a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. If your teen needs a more involved level of care than standard therapy but you sense that they don’t need inpatient treatment, then our IOP may be ideal for them.
The Secure Attachment Initiative’s intensive outpatient mental health program is a comprehensive treatment program made to provide intensive care and support for teens and families facing mental health challenges. It is a six-week program that features a rotating curriculum of topics, so teens can join at the start of any week without worrying about missing a certain topic. Our program aims to bridge the gap between inpatient care and traditional outpatient services by offering a structured and intensive treatment option that allows adolescents to maintain their daily routines while receiving the support they need. By offering a higher level of care than traditional outpatient therapy, our program ensures teenagers receive consistent support and guidance as they navigate their mental health challenges. This helps maintain the momentum of progress made during inpatient treatment or crisis intervention.
We work with clients from a relational, experiential approach to help undo aloneness and create a secure attachment with self and others. We believe that every aspect of our being has positive intentions, even when their effects can be harmful. By embracing curiosity and being receptive to new inner experiences, we can move towards living a more authentic and intentional life.

We offer an average of nine hours of therapeutic treatment per week. Due to the rotating nature of our practice’s curriculum, teens are welcome to join at the beginning of each week. In addition to the nine weekly group hours, teens are welcome to join one to three additional hours of non-traditional therapeutic activities (yoga, somatic experiencing, neurofeedback, art expression, etc.) and four hours of a therapeutic wilderness experience. After the completion of the six-week IOP, each teen is offered follow-up therapeutic services including individual and/or family therapy.

We explore building secure connections, emotional regulation, and coaching children through emotions. Join in-person or virtually for $10/session, thanks to grant funding. While single-session attendance is welcome, six weeks provide the most benefit. Childcare is not provided. Though the facilitator isn’t fluent in Spanish, we’re committed to making participation accessible for Spanish-speaking parents through available support services.
