Partial Hospitalization Program
The Refuge, A Healing Place in Ocklawaha, Florida, provides a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults age 18 and older who have mental health disorders, eating disorders, and substance use concerns. Our PHP takes place on the same campus as our detoxification and residential treatment programs. However, this treatment program is a stand-alone option, and clients reside in separate housing from those in the residential programs. Clients in our PHP take part in six hours of therapeutic programming seven days a week, for up to 30 days. Many people enter our PHP after completing one of our residential treatment programs, but some enter this level of care directly. During the day, clients participate in therapies to learn more about mental health and addictions, develop valuable coping skills, and set goals for the future. Clients can also enjoy a variety of activities, including yoga, sculpting, ropes courses, and canoeing. Our PHP promotes continued healing and prepares clients for life beyond treatment. At The Refuge, we are committed to providing quality programming and compassionate care. When you take part in our PHP, you can work with a multidisciplinary team of counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, registered dietitians, medical doctors, registered nurses, and certified trauma therapists. Our staff will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs so that you can have a successful experience in our PHP. Clients can enjoy personal freedom and flexibility while still having the support of structured programming. You may participate in multiple group therapy sessions each day and individual and family counseling as needed. In therapy, our clinicians incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative exposure therapy (NET), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which can help you uncover the ways your thoughts impact your behaviors and learn tools for positive change. The Refuge, A Healing Place is a leading provider of residential and outpatient programming for adults in Ocklawaha, Florida. We are conveniently located in central Florida just one hour north of Orlando. We serve individuals who have been struggling with mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, self-harm, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We also offer treatment for adults who have eating disorders and addictions. Our hospital is located on 96 acres in the middle of the Ocala National Forest. Clients in our residential and outpatient programs reside in newly renovated cabins that have screened-in porches where they can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. During downtime, clients can enjoy our pool, volleyball court, fully equipped gym, canoes, ropes course, art studio, and fire pits. Upon completing treatment, each client receives a detailed aftercare plan, which may include referrals for outpatient therapy, medication management services, nutritional counseling, sober living housing, and support groups.
