Dual Diagnosis Treatment at Evolve Santa Barbara
Evolve Santa Barbara treats teens ages 12-17 struggling with mental health, addiction or behavioral issues. We specialize in adolescent depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, personality disorders, dual diagnoses, suicidality and other issues. Many of our teens have difficulty regulating emotions and are engaging in high-risk/self-harm behaviors. Our team of highly qualified, licensed clinicians and medical professionals utilize evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to teach teens practical skills for distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and improved impulse control. Through individual therapy, family therapy, group sessions, psychiatry, and experiential therapies (including art, music, yoga, fitness and more), your child will learn ways to manage stress, communicate appropriately, and lead a more fulfilled, productive life. Our programs are suited for teens who need a higher level of care than weekly psychotherapy, or for those looking for an appropriate transition from residential/inpatient treatment.
Two Program Options at Evolve Santa Barbara
Teens at Evolve Santa Barbara live at home and attend treatment in our centrally located space 3-5 days a week. We offer two program options. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a half day of programming three to four days a week. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers a full day of programming, five days a week. To determine which level of care is right for your teen, we offer free assessment and referral services by our Clinical Program Director. In both programs, teens receive one psychiatric evaluation weekly as well as 1-2 individual therapy sessions per week with our licensed, full-time clinicians. Daily, adolescents participate in groups on DBT Skills, Anger Management, Life Skills, Relapse Prevention, Mindfulness, 12-Step recovery, and Seeking Safety (for post-traumatic stress disorder and co-occurring substance use). Teens also receive daily academic support to help them stay on track with school. Since we believe treatment is most successful when the entire family is involved, we offer Parent Support Groups and Multifamily Support Groups weekly as well. At Evolve, our goal is genuine growth that lasts long after your child leaves treatment.
We Specialize in Adolescents—and Adolescents Only
Accredited by both CARF and the Joint Commission, Evolve treats teens—and teens only. A specialty program like ours—exclusively geared to adolescents—can be a safer experience and promote better recovery for your child than other programs that also include adults. Experts agree that teenagers require different approaches to recovery than other age groups. We focus on what we do best: providing a supportive, warm, structured environment for adolescents to stabilize and learn better skills. Research also shows that treatment works best when it is individually tailored to each teen and considers their unique background, target behaviors and past history. Our multidisciplinary clinical team takes great care in crafting a customized recovery plan for each teen after collaborating with parents, schools and referring providers. This individualized treatment plan is continuously reviewed and adjusted based on your child’s progress. We accept most insurance plans and offer free insurance verifications.
