The Marin Counseling Collaborative is a community counseling center and training program operated by Bay Area Community Resources, a non-profit organization providing services to Marin residents since 1975. We provide counseling to adults, couples, and families. All of our therapists have specialties in working with children and adolescents.

Bayside Marin is one of the nation's premier residential treatment programs. Located on a serene and secluded campus in northern California that overlooks San Francisco Bay, Bayside Marin is a small, private, and highly personalized program for adult men and women, aged 18 and older, who are struggling with substance abuse, addiction, and co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and borderline personality disorder. The Bayside philosophy places great emphasis on incorporating science-based, research-supported clinical services into comprehensive treatment plans that are personalized to address the unique needs of each client. Treatment at Bayside Marin is holistic experience that is designed to help clients heal in all areas of their lives, including their physical health, mental health, employment, relationships, finances, housing, and social support systems. From detox (if necessary), through residential treatment with a robust family component, and into a 12-month post-discharge recovery support program, Bayside provides a full spectrum of services to guide clients out of the depths of addiction and onto the path of long-term recovery.

Insurance covers up to 100 percent of the treatment and therapeutic modalities that Newport Institute offers. We accept all major insurance providers and work collaboratively with payers to optimize coverage for families. Many young adults who receive treatment from Newport Institute using insurance coverage do so through a Single Case Agreement, a special contract through which out-of-network providers can work with a family’s insurance company on an In-Network basis. Newport Institute maintains a full-time, in-house team dedicated to supporting families through the mental health insurance coverage and financing process. In order to secure sufficient insurance coverage, we will most likely need to conduct a series of clinical reviews and any requested doctor-to-doctor calls with the insurance company. While other facilities may charge for this service, we feel it is our responsibility to assist families with what can be a complex process. Our goal is to ensure that families receive the maximum coverage, so they can access the highest-quality treatment.

Our full continuum of care allows us to provide treatment that meets the needs of each unique adolescent—whether they are stepping down from a residential program, require a higher level of care, or are seeking ongoing structure and community through outpatient programming. Newport Academy has residential and outpatient locations around the country, in order to give as many teens and families as possible access to the treatment they need to thrive. We provide industry-leading residential care, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient services with flexible schedules, all accredited by the Joint Commission for Behavioral Healthcare, the nation’s most respected healthcare accreditation body. In addition, Newport Academy offers continuing connection once a patient leaves our care, through virtual sessions providing ongoing support for both teens and parents; and through our robust Alumni program, which keeps former clients connected through online and in-person events and support groups.

Muir Wood Adolescent and Family Services treats teen boys and girls ages 12 – 17 experiencing substance use and mental health conditions. Our campuses are beautiful, home-like settings in Sonoma County, Clovis and Riverside, California, where clients enjoy camaraderie, benefit from intensive integrated therapy, and enjoy recreation and experiential therapy activities. Boys and girls are treated and housed separately to eliminate drama and distraction. This program provides comprehensive, evidence-based care for teens experiencing a range of behavioral healthcare issues, including substance use disorders, anxiety, OCD, depression, mood disorders, and suicidality. Programming is trauma-informed to create a safe and supportive atmosphere where teens can feel open and comfortable engaging in treatment and focusing on their care without distractions. Muir Wood is also in-network with Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, Halcyon, Kaiser Permanente, Magellan, MHN, and Optum.

Located in Sebastopol, California, Azure Acres Recovery Center offers comprehensive outpatient services that include a partial hospitalization program (PHP). Our PHP is available for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with substance use disorders. This level of care may be especially beneficial for people who do not require 24/7 monitoring but need structured treatment to achieve their wellness goals. Clients may enter the program directly or by stepping down from a higher level of care. The PHP meets Monday-Saturday for six hours each day. While the typical length of participation is 14-30 days, the actual program duration is determined on an individual basis. Interventions and techniques utilized at this level of care may include dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, recovery support groups, psychoeducational groups, art therapy, yoga, and recreational activities. In the PHP, clients have the opportunity to establish a solid support network and learn practical coping skills that they can implement in everyday situations.

Back2Basics combines addiction treatment program therapeutic counseling with experiential outdoor adventures to treat individuals with substance and alcohol addiction and lead them through rehab and recovery into long-term sober living. The program is highlighted by spending time in the beautiful serene wilderness where individuals are physically challenged, their minds are cleared and they learn ways to defeat old addictive thinking patterns through various outdoor adventures.

Avery Lane is an innovative San Francisco Bay Area all-female Primary Substance Abuse, Primary Mental Health and Trauma Specialized inpatient and outpatient treatment center with programs thoughtfully designed and developed exclusively to meet the unique needs of women. We treat everything that comes up for women specifically while they struggle with substance abuse and mental health concerns. Our experienced clinical and medical team utilizes the latest holistic and evidenced-based approaches to provide women with the most effective and engaging treatment for their individualized core issues. We have created a community environment in which our team and participants work together to heal and grow.
