Adolescent Mental Health & Addiction Treatment
Evolve’s residential treatment center offers compassionate, evidence-based treatment to adolescents ages 12-17 struggling with mental health, substance use, and/or behavioral issues. Many of our teens have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, trauma, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, conduct disorder, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, and suicidal ideation. Our handpicked treatment team consists of board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, licensed therapists, on-site nurses, Master’s-level residential counselors and 24-hour support staff. We utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) integrated with experiential therapies (e.g. equine-assisted therapy, mindfulness, surfing, music, art, drama, fitness, yoga and more). Teens participate in individual/family therapy at least five times a week, psychiatry sessions once a week, and daily groups on DBT Skills, Anger Management, Seeking Safety, and Relapse Prevention. For out-of-state families, we conduct family therapy sessions via HIPAA-compliant video conference. We also provide daily academic support to help your adolescent stay on track with school.

Our full-time therapists and counselors conduct daily check-ins and provide in-the-moment, face-to-face skills coaching and crisis support 24/7. They teach our teens the skills needed for emotion regulation, improved impulse control, distress tolerance, and effective communication. Evolve’s residential treatment program is suited for teens stepping down from inpatient hospitalization, or as a step-up option for teens requiring more support than outpatient programs. Evolve is fully licensed and accredited by both CARF and the Joint Commission.
Admissions and Location
To ensure that our treatment center is appropriate for your adolescent’s clinical needs, we conduct a detailed phone assessment prior to admission. Our licensed Admissions Clinician then reviews this information for clearance to admit. After your teen is admitted, our multi-disciplinary team performs a comprehensive, face-to-face evaluation in order to develop a customized, solution-focused treatment plan. Every teen’s length of stay is individual and based on treatment progression; from day one, our dedicated discharge coordinator works with the primary therapist on a detailed aftercare plan that sets your teen up for a smooth transition back home. Evolve’s beautiful two-story home in a quiet neighborhood in L.A. features comfortable accommodations, separate therapy area, backyard gazebos, a swimming pool, fully equipped gym, tennis/basketball courts, and an onsite chef.
