Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital provides an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with mental health disorders. This program is designed to help people who have developed anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health concerns, as well as those who have become addicted to alcohol or another drug. We make all admissions decisions on an individual basis, but in general, our IOP serves people who can benefit from structured clinical care but do not require round-the-clock support. This means that adults may step down to our IOP after completing an inpatient or residential program, or they may enter treatment with us directly at the IOP level. Flexible scheduling is one of the many features of our IOP. We offer three hours of care each day, with participants having the option of attending treatment three to five days per week. This approach allows people to learn new skills during treatment and practice them in a real-world environment during nontreatment hours. They can then process their experiences and receive feedback during their next session.

Ascension Saint Thomas Behavioral Health Hospital, located in Nashville, Tennessee, offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older. In our IOP, we treat a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression and posttraumatic stress disorder. Intensive outpatient programming can be beneficial for individuals who require a less intensive level of care to reach their treatment goals. We provide personalized, flexible care to help people in need learn to manage their symptoms so that they can begin to function better and improve their overall quality of life. Patients may enter the program directly or by stepping down from a higher level of care. Patients in our IOP usually remain in treatment for eight to 12 weeks depending on their needs. During this time, they take part in group therapy sessions three times each week. Patients who have been experiencing symptoms that can be treated with prescription medication may also receive medication management services while they are in our IOP. The standard schedule for this level of care includes three hours of treatment three days per week, for a total of nine weekly hours of care. We also care for those who are struggling with addiction. Inpatient treatment is a short-term service, with the goal of stabilizing patients so that they can return home or step down to a lower level of care. Typical length of stay at our hospital is seven to 12 days. During that time, a person’s care may include basic medical care, medication management services, detoxification, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Calo Programs offers residential treatment for adolescents and teens that is uniquely focused and specially equipped to treat students and families impacted by traumatic experiences which occurred in the developmental period, such as adoption, chronic stress, and inconsistent care from caregivers. These adolescents struggle to be in healthy relationship with family and peers, experience emotional dysregulation, and often fail to maintain safe behavior in school or at home. With a foundational focus on safety and creating repetitive experiences of co-regulation through relationship, our students begin the journey towards developing a healthy sense of self. This enables them to engage with the resources and relationships that they have previously rejected.

We offer intensive support in a safe environment for people who have acute symptoms of a variety of behavioral health concerns. Each school-age patient who participates in our adolescent residential programs can continue to get a traditional education through our school, The Village Academy, located on the Village Behavioral Health campus. The Village Academy is a private school that has been approved by the Tennessee State Department of Education and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Our school staff includes qualified administrators and full-time credentialed teachers who are state-licensed in English, mathematics, social studies, and natural sciences. The Village Academy provides remedial and special education services for students who have emotional concerns and learning differences. Our teachers work closely with each student’s previous school, and each student completes an evaluation that can give us insight into their educational needs. This information can help us design an individual academic plan for each patient. Because The Village Academy is fully accredited, students can complete all high school graduation requirements at our school if needed.

Tennessee Wellness Center offers comprehensive outpatient treatment options for both primary mental health disorders and substance use disorders.
