Do you feel objectified and not heard?
At Southern California Sunrise Recovery we will listen to you and learn from you. In the world of addiction and substance abuse people are lost in the shuffle of insurance needs, company and staff needs, and other distractions form the mission. Our mission is to hear you and to work as hard as you do to accomplish your goals. We've learned it takes a team approach and we are ready to be your teammate. If you are struggling with finding a purpose for recovery, finding yourself, understanding your addiction, or simply feeling lost, we understand. We do not judge our clients or impose a specific theory or belief system on them. Each persons addiction started and evolved in different ways. If you have struggled with addiction for 3 months or five years it will not take you simply 30 days to change your life. It takes time, patience, compassion, and hard work on both sides, yours and the team you choose to work with. Your treatment plan will be specific to your needs and the life you've been living.
What is your view of addiction and recovery?
Our clinical team has heard stories that should be scary movies about what services are available to people looking to change their lives. When you have made the decision to battle an addiction, you are likely already judging yourself and/or not happy with how things are going as a result of that addiction. We understand. You will not be judged here. You are also not alone. Your story is yours and we are ready to listen to it or help you move past it when you are. How can we serve you? We have six bed residential care facilities throughout Mission Viejo and a detox facility in Laguna Niguel. These locations accommodate couples and pets. Our staff is trained in the most recent forms of psychological treatment and is very aware of what it takes to battle an addiction. Are you looking for a center to be upfront and direct with you. Do you appreciate "Real Talk" and respect? This is the approach we take. In residential care, your needs can get very challenging. Our case managers help you get your life outside of treatment in order and will let you know what's going on at all times.
What's your diagnosis? How many meds do you take?
If you have a diagnosis, do you understand it and are you taking more medications than you have your entire life? Far too often we encounter clients whom have been diagnosed in one location as Bipolar, then another location as depressed, then other diagnosis. Along with these diagnosis, the client will hand our admissions staff a list or a bag of 10 or more medications. The diagnosis is not the problem nor is it an issue with the provider. Many centers refer clients to a psychiatrist who is seeing the client after a long run of using substances. This causes a false impression of what a normal baseline is for the client. At Southern California Sunrise Recovery, you have a team of professionals, medical doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed marriage and family therapists, and others who review your personal needs as a team. We provide nationally recognized psychological testing to our clients to aid in properly assessing them for a complete diagnosis. Many clients have started our program on more than 10 medications and left on one or taking nothing at all. They are frequently checked on by our team after completing the program and are still sober and thriving.
