Accredited Academics
Millcreek of Magee is a premier provider of behavioral healthcare and educational services for children and adolescents ages 6-21. We serve young people who have autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral health concerns like depression, bipolar disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. As part of our comprehensive services, we work to ensure that each child or young adult receives care that meets their educational needs and helps them achieve their academic goals. Our treatment center includes a fully accredited school that provides special educational services. We also offer educational services like nutrition education and social skills training. Our specialized care programs include the following: a psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF), an intermediate care facility for individuals who have intellectual disabilities (ICF/IID), therapeutic group homes for adolescent males, and day treatment schools. Young people in our programs receive quality educational services, which we deliver through an expert staff of licensed teachers and other caring professionals.
Therapeutic Support
We designed the programs at Millcreek of Magee to support young people who need specialized care to help them function better in family, peer, and school settings. To help each young person achieve their goals, we thoroughly assess their unique developmental, emotional, educational, and social needs. Our treatment teams then create an individualized care plan for each young person, welcoming the involvement of family members when appropriate. Treatment plans will vary based on the individual and the program they’re participating in but may include elements like individual, family, and group therapies; medication management; creative arts therapies; and skills development. Additionally, to promote growth and healing, we may incorporate interventions such as the following: cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, Nurtured Heart, and the positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) framework. At Millcreek of Magee, our goal is to help children and teens lead healthier, happier, and more productive lives, and we provide customized support to help each person achieve this brighter future.
Our Treatment Center
At Millcreek of Magee, we aim to deliver excellence in both treatment and education services. We truly want to help each young person in our care realize their full potential and achieve better functioning and overall success. Our educational programs provide focused treatment, healthy structure, and the support of experts, which may include nurses, doctors, therapists, and special education teachers. Another important service we offer at our treatment center is aftercare planning, which begins the day someone enters one of our programs. Aftercare planning generally includes the young person, their guardian, the treatment team, and our education staff. The goal is usually to help the young person return to their family and the public school system or to transition to a lower level of care that can meet their needs, such as our therapeutic group homes or school-based day treatment programs. To learn more about our educational and therapeutic services or to inquire about admission to one of our programs, please contact us today. Our education programs serve young people in Magee, Mississippi, and surrounding communities, including Raleigh, Brookhaven, Pearl, and Newton.
