Benefits of Medication-Assisted Treatment
Santa Ana Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services for adults age 18 and older who are experiencing symptoms of opioid addiction. MAT is an evidence-based practice that incorporates the use of both prescription medication and counseling services to treat opioid use disorder. Reasons for addiction can be hard for some people to pinpoint, and MAT can provide patients with an opportunity to discover underlying causes of substance abuse through deep discussions with experienced counselors in group and individual therapy sessions. You can connect with other adults in large group sessions and with our therapists directly through individual counseling. Both types of therapy can provide opportunities for you to expand your support system during treatment. At Santa Ana CTC, we encourage you to take a proactive approach to recovery by getting to know others who may be facing similar struggles. Bonds that are built during your time at our treatment center can provide a sense of camaraderie as you work toward recovery goals alongside your peers.
What to Expect
We offer several different types of medication through our MAT services, unlike traditional methadone clinics that offer only methadone. Clinicians will carefully select the medication type that will best support your needs from methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, and Suboxone and closely monitor your progress so that they can make dosage adjustments as needed. Medication can keep you comfortable during treatment by alleviating intense cravings and symptoms of withdrawal and can allow you to fully focus on your recovery. We encourage you to discuss what you hope to accomplish during treatment with our staff to give us a better understanding of how we can help keep you on track with your goals. Our team will use this knowledge, along with information gleaned from your initial assessment, to create a customized treatment plan that is tailored specifically to your needs.
