Detox and SUD Co-Occurring
Sanford Behavioral Health provides medical detox treatment for our patients as part of our full continuum of care. Medical detoxification (detox) is safely ridding the body of alcohol and drugs and managing the resultant withdrawal symptoms. . We provide a medical evaluation within 24 hours of admission, including a physical examination, orders for appropriate service, face-to-face consultation, and a risk assessment with a personal safety plan. We also complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment when we admit a patient into an appropriate program. Sanford West Campus also houses our substance use disorder co-occurring treatment center. Our mental health treatment programs address co-occurring disorders, also known as dual diagnosis, through integrated therapy and medication management. Our team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, licensed therapists, and addiction counselors work together to create plans for each patient to address all aspects of mental and physical health. At Sanford Behavioral Health, our approach includes evidence-based therapy and medication management to address the unique challenges of managing multiple conditions
Sanford Comprehensive Treatment - Eating Disorders
Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders (SCTED) residential aims to provide structure, safety, and accountability with 24/7 nursing and clinical support. We want to reduce the harmful effects of eating disorders efficiently and start individuals on their recovery path. We understand that the needs of each individual seeking treatment are unique, and we work with patients to support a safe transition out of residential treatment when the time is right. In the same way, we strive to deliver a person-centered and trauma-informed program throughout the recovery process. We treat anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and other specified feeding and eating disorders (OSFED). Program services include individual, family, and group therapy, medical evaluation and monitoring, psychiatric support, nutritional therapy provided by registered dieticians, resource referrals, and case management. In addition, we integrate experiential therapy into the recovery process whenever possible. Experiential therapy utilizes recreation, creative expression, and other activity-based techniques to restore physical and psychological health.
