Sanford House at John Street
Founded in 2015, Sanford Behavioral Health is licensed and accredited as an addiction, eating disorder, and co-occurring mental health treatment facility serving Michigan and beyond. Sanford House at John Street is a residential addiction treatment facility for adult men (18 and older). The male-gendered counterpart to Sanford House at Cherry Street for Women, John Street, offers 24/7 structured living. We provide detox, clinical programming, medical management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and male-gendered therapeutic approaches. There are 20 beds for residential treatment, and we back all our programs with science-based practices, wellness activities, and a private chef. Programs include individual, group, and family therapy, a full continuum of care, and long-term support. Services for addiction include psychiatric and medical assessments, medical detox, residential programs, day programs(PHP), intensive outpatient programs, and in-person and telehealth options. Sanford has assembled a psychiatrist-led team of medical, clinical, and support personnel providing medication-assisted, evidenced-based treatment to residential, outpatient, and telehealth patients.
Residential Treatment for Men
Sanford House at John Street accommodates 20 men in a naturally private location. Residential patients live at a Sanford facility while attending group, individual, and family therapy sessions, receiving medical and psychiatric check-ups, and participating in wellness activities. This option provides 24/7 access to the support of our medical team. Gilbert Masterson, M. D, leads our medical services. All levels of care include on-site supervision by medical doctors with specialties in psychiatry and addictionology, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, and registered dietitians. Our secure surroundings allow men to feel comfortable sharing their personal history in group and individual settings. The family is welcomed and involved in the process through our comprehensive Family Program. Sanford House at Cherry Street provides the same excellence in treatment in a gender-specific environment for women. We can accommodate 10 women at the Cherry Street location. Sanford Outpatient Center uses psychosocial/behavioral therapies and pharmacotherapy to treat alcohol, opioid and other drug use disorders. Residential treatment includes nightly 12-step meetings on and off campus.
