Sanford Behavioral Health Addiction Treatment
Founded in 2015, Sanford Behavioral Health is licensed and accredited as a substance use disorder, eating disorder, and co-occurring mental health treatment facility, serving Greater Grand Rapids, all of Michigan and beyond. Our Addiction Treatment Program incorporates a full continuum of care for adults 18 years+. Sanford has a psychiatrist-led team of medical, clinical, and support personnel providing medication-assisted, evidenced-based treatment to residential, outpatient, and telehealth patients. We also have outpatient therapy in-person and via telehealth. Residents live onsite while they attend group, individual, and family therapy sessions, receive medical and psychiatric check-ups and participate in wellness activities. This option provides 24/7 access to the support of our medical team. Our clinicians offer specialized care and follow a program accentuating each person’s inherent values and strengths. Specialized gender-specific sessions and outside recovery or 12-step meetings are included in the program. Sanford West Behavioral Health Campus provides comprehensive treatment for a wide range of mental health diagnoses, addressing the specific and individualized needs of each client. Our integrated approach includes access to psychiatry providers, nurses, clinical therapists, recreational therapists, case managers, dieticians, and more, all under one roof. Our addiction treatment programs include residental, day, intensive outpatient (3/hrs 3/per week), and outpatient treatment. We also have robust excursions for exercise, experiential therapy, and outside AA/NA and community recovery meetings. In addition, our well-established family/alum programs support long-term recovery for the whole family. All of our outpatient programs are available in-person or virtually. At Sanford, we understand that reaching out can be scary for an individual or their family. Because of this, our caring admissions specialists are availavle to answer questions or just talk. We take pride in finding solutions for the folks who call us - even in the unlikely event that Sanford is not the correct fit. We recognize the importance of a long-term continuum of treatment programs, classes, and resources. Therefore, our multi-disciplinary team uses comprehensive assessments to ensure proper diagnosis and individualized treatment plans. Successful treatment of substance use disorders typically requires continual evaluation and adjustments, similar to the approach taken for other chronic diseases. Our medical services are psychiatrist-led with 24/7 nursing coverage. All levels of care include on-site supervision by medical doctors with specialties in psychiatry and addictionology, advanced practice providers, registered nurses and registered dietitians. Co-occurring or dual dianosis mental health conditions are treated together with SUD treatment under one roof with the same clinical and medical teams.
