What is Sanare Today?
Sanare Today is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that provides group treatment for individuals in crisis or who are struggling with maintaining emotional stability. The groups are held 4 days a week to provide more support and direction than traditional outpatient care. IOP groups are provided separately for adolescents and adults. The IOP is an effective step down transition for individuals coming out of a hospital or as a preventive measure to inpatient treatment. Each group session runs for 2 ¼ hours. Family support groups are scheduled weekly or every other week. Individual and family sessions are scheduled on an as needed basis. This is determined through the collaboration of the Primary Therapist and the patient/client. Sanare Today offers day, evening and weekend programs in several different office locations.
Sanare's mission
The mission of Sanare Today is to provide a pathway to hope, peace and happiness for individuals who want the most out of life and who may be struggling with mental health and substance use issues. A primary goal is to help individuals become stabilized emotionally and be able to succeed at school/work, maintain healthy interpersonal relationships, and learn effective coping strategies to dealing with life's challenges. Sanare Today is a strength-based model of care that evaluates the whole person. We will utilize community resources to meet the physical, mental, career/educational, and spiritual needs of the members we serve.
Who is appropriate for IOP care at Sanare?
Sanare Today is appropriate for adults and adolescents struggling to function in school, the community or at home on a daily basis. Most of the clients appropriate for this program include those struggling with mental health conditions such as Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Panic Attacks with or without Agoraphobia, and Anxiety Disorders (GAD, PTSD, Phobia, OCD). Sanare Today will also admit individuals struggling with substance use, unless they are in need of detox, in which case they would be referred to appropriate programs providing such services. If you are unsure if your patient/client is appropriate see if they meet any of the following: Suicidal ideation; self-injurious behaviors (e.g. cutting, restricting, binging, purging, burning, hair pulling); engaging in risk-taking behaviors (e.g. sexual promiscuity, alcohol and/or drug use, reckless driving), frequent negative statements about themselves, their life or relationships; constant worries; feeling hopeless; frequently tearful/crying; problems sleeping and/or eating more days than not, unable to work or keep up with daily responsibilities, frequent conflicts with family members, school staff, or peers. Anyone being discharged from inpatient psychiatric hospitalization is also appropriate to refer.
