San Diego Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) serves adults age 18 and older who are suffering from opioid addictions. We offer medication-assisted treatment — also known as MAT — which combines prescription medication and counseling to help people stop opioid use and lay a foundation for lasting recovery. The medications provided through MAT can help relieve the challenging symptoms associated with opioid withdrawal, making it easier for patients to successfully navigate withdrawal and focus on recovery. By receiving medication through a MAT program, people can also gain the mental clarity they may need to participate fully in treatment. MAT is research-supported and recommended for opioid addiction treatment by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). In addition to supporting the physical and emotional elements of recovery, it can improve a person’s social functioning and help them remain in treatment. What to Expect
At San Diego CTC, we strive to differentiate our services from those of many traditional methadone clinics. We offer four medication options for our patients: methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, and Suboxone. Before you begin care at our treatment center, you will complete an initial assessment with our qualified professionals. Our staff will learn about your medical history and assess your health, history of drug use, and current drug use. This assessment will help us determine the medication that may be most appropriate for you as well as allow us to better understand your individual needs. The other critical component of our MAT programming involves connecting you with personalized counseling services that can motivate and empower you in recovery. At San Diego CTC, our compassionate and skilled counselors can help you learn about your feelings and behaviors and gain valuable insights into the social and emotional aspects of addiction recovery.
