Our Approach

At Rocky Mountain Treatment Center, we believe that successful addiction treatment requires individualized treatment of the entire person based on a bio-psycho-social model of care. This includes physical, emotional, behavioral, family, social and spiritual needs. The Center's highly trained staff continually review clients' information to ensure the highest quality of care. We also provide each client with a personalized treatment plan -- here YOU are not just a number. Backed by our knowledge, professionalism, and 354 years of staff sobriety, we can get you started on your recovery journey. We use time-tested as well as innovative evidence-based treatments combined with compassion to give people new hope and help them be honest with themselves. The safety of our clients is our top priority, and our 24/7 medical team work constantly to ensure our clients' medical, physical, and psychological needs are met. The Center is housed in a restored turn of the 20th century convent, and provides a peaceful environment for clients. Our building has heard many stories over the years -- it wants to hear your story and restore your hope for a bright future.

Equine Therapy

Rocky Mountain Treatment Center is one of the few addiction treatment programs nationally and the only program in Montana to offer Equine Therapy. The Equine Therapy Program is based at Eagle Mount of Great Falls, a beautiful equestrian center located just outside of Great Falls. Jessica Hofer, a Licensed Addiction Counselor at the Center, and Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) certified instructor, runs the program. She grew up on a ranch, and has worked with horses her entire life. Equine therapy has proven highly effective with children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. There is also emerging evidence that horse therapy is an effective treatment for addiction. It is normal for people struggling with addiction to blame others for their problems. This applies in particular to traditional therapy settings. However, equine therapy provides an alternative environment that forces the individual to confront their emotions and their problems. Horses' outsides match their insides, and they can tell when people are putting up a facade. As a result, horses provide a non-judgmental environment in which the individual can be honest and grow while building confidence without criticism.

Treatment Programs

Rocky Mountain Treatment Center provides medically monitored detox. Our compassionate medical staff is with you 24/7 encouraging you through the physical, mental and emotional stages of withdrawal. Our Family Programs provide individual and group therapy sessions where families can address longstanding issues in a safe non-judgmental environment. Families also work with our Case Manager to ensure aftercare planning meets each client's unique situation and needs. Recreational Therapy, including workouts at a gym, volleyball, basketball, hiking, arts and crafts, and trips to local museums, parks and other attractions, helps clients get back to enjoying life and physical activity. By exploring and finding life-long interests, clients realize it is possible to have fun without drinking or using. Recreational activities also teach clients how to accomplish goals, resolve problems, socialize while sober, and manage stressful situations. Rocky Mountain's Spiritual Programs allow clients to find their higher power. Their definition of their higher power is an individual choice. It may be God, nature, or the universe ... whatever makes sense to them and helps them heal. Medical detox takes the poison out of clients' bodies, and our Family, Recreational, and Spiritual Programs treat the whole person - body, mind, and spirit.
