Why Horses? Horses provide clients with a frequency and consistency of responses that are immediate and authentic. They offer honest feedback, which helps clients understand how they influence, create, and maintain relationships. Therapeutic work with horses allows for a safe and unique learning opportunity, where clients can explore their boundaries, personal awareness, safety, and relationship patterns.
Rocky Mountain Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (RMEAP) was founded and is directed by Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Certified Animal Assisted Social Workers, all who have a lifetime of experience working with horses. RMEAP’s unique therapeutic approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relational Therapy and Natural Lifemanship's model of Trauma Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP). Our method incorporates unmounted and mounted work, with focus on the development of healthy relational patterns and self-regulation. Programs Offered: • Individual Therapy Sessions • Family Sessions • Equine Assisted Learning Sessions (non- therapy, horsemanship and goal oriented skill building)
Rocky Mountain EAP is a unique organization that serves youth, individuals, and families throughout Metro Denver. Our main site is located at Happy Dog Ranch in Littleton, CO www.happydogranch.org. We also will be accepting new clients at our new Longmont location Spring 2020, please contact us for more information.
