Adult Intensive Outpatient Program
Riverwoods Behavioral Health System offers an adult intensive outpatient program (IOP) that accepts individuals age 18 and older who are battling symptoms of addictions and mental health concerns like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, and schizoaffective disorder. Our adult IOP can be an ideal option for people who are looking for a step-up level of care from traditional outpatient services or for those who do not need the supervision offered at higher levels of care. The therapy options we offer in our intensive outpatient program include individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapies. These therapy sessions may cover topics like coping skills, relapse prevention, conflict resolution, healthy boundaries, and effective communication. Patients in our adult IOP meet three to five days per week, giving them the opportunity to continue working or participating in other activities outside of treatment. Adult Partial Hospitalization Program
We offer an adult partial hospitalization program (PHP) for people age 18 and older as a step below inpatient and residential care. Our adult PHP is suitable for adults who may require less supervision than what is offered in residential or inpatient treatment but still need a level of support that is more structured than what is typically provided in a standard outpatient program. The average length of stay in our adult PHP is 28 days; however, the actual time spent in the program will depend on the needs of the individual. The most common types of therapy we use in our PHP include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. We also offer group therapy and incorporate family and individual sessions as needed. Therapy sessions are led by counselors, therapists, master’s-level clinicians, mental health specialists, and other highly trained professionals who can provide support and motivation as you work toward achieving your treatment goals. Riverwoods Behavioral Health System is located in Riverdale, Georgia, just outside of the city of Atlanta. Our team prioritizes aftercare as highly as the treatment itself, as we want our patients to achieve lifelong recovery and experience continued success after they leave our treatment center. Discharge plans are incredibly important to us, and we begin working on them at the time of admission. Patients can collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of professionals to discuss potential continuing care options that will best suit their needs following treatment. Options for aftercare can include ongoing medication management, counseling sessions, and 12-Step programming.
