Psychiatric Residential Treatment
Resource Treatment Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a premier psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) for adolescents and young adults ages 11-20 who have depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), borderline personality disorder (BPD), and reactive attachment disorder. Many of our residents have experienced trauma, neglect, and abuse and may struggle with emotional and educational challenges. Our PRTF is ideal for young people who have a history of acute inpatient hospitalizations and require more support than what is offered in traditional outpatient programs. A typical day at our PRTF involves a variety of programming and on-site schooling. Residents can engage in individual therapy once a week, family therapy at least every two weeks, and group therapy sessions every day. Qualified therapists lead these sessions, and the treatment methods they utilize may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Education Program
We work hard to ensure that each resident receives the educational support they need during their stay with us. Our PRTF offers an on-site school that is fully accredited by the Indianapolis Public School System. Our educational programming is delivered by qualified special education teachers in a traditional classroom setting. Residents are able to accumulate credits to prevent them from falling behind academically while they are in treatment, and we are also able to assist residents in preparing for their GED. Each resident receives a customized treatment plan that considers their unique emotional, educational, and developmental needs. This treatment plan outlines which services they will receive while in our care. Our multidisciplinary staff of teachers, therapists, psychiatrists, and behavioral health associates provides support and encouragement for each resident. Admissions
Resource Treatment Center provides a full continuum of care for adolescents who have mental health concerns and need long-term residential treatment and support. To begin the admissions process, we encourage you to call our facility. Our admissions director is available Monday-Friday and can answer any questions you may have about our psychiatric residential treatment program for adolescents and young adults. If we determine that the individual could benefit from residential treatment, we will schedule an assessment for them. During this assessment, our staff will gather information about the young person’s behavioral health history, their current needs, and if they’ve previously received inpatient or residential treatment. At Resource, we value all our referral sources and work with a variety of community, government, and law enforcement agencies to provide quality care for each young person. We regularly communicate with our referral sources to update them on the resident’s progress and to develop discharge plans.
