Resolutions Healthcare serves the addiction recovery community. Our programs specialize in trauma focused care. Trauma and addictions are closely linked. Many of the clients we have treated at our addiction facilities were suffering from addictions that related to past unresolved traumas/life events. The common theme from thousands of clients was their use of substances to escape the symptoms often triggered by painful memories and flashbacks of past events. Clients also didn’t view many of their past events such as accidents, divorce, injuries, medical issues, jail, etc. as traumatic events. They simply thought a traumatic event was abuse and war. The common misconception of clients and families is blaming current mental health symptoms or current events as the cause of the addictions. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We have never treated anyone where the current symptoms or problems were the causal factor for their addictions. In fact, this misconception of current mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, impulsiveness, anger, etc. being the cause often leads therapists to just “Chase Symptoms” and miss the core issues. Outpatient Programs
Resolutions Healthcare offers all outpatient services to the addiction recovery community. Services include but not limited to Outpatient Program (OP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). We use an evidenced based curriculum with our own proprietary model of treatment, Resolution Focused Therapy (RFT). This combination of treatment offers traditional group therapies along with groups designed to help those suffering from past unresolved trauma and understand how that trauma impacts their current addictions and lives. The RFT model is founded in an evidenced based cognitive behavioral philosophy. Our belief is that many mental health disorders are a result of these unresolved past issues and that many practitioners spend too much time “chasing symptoms” (e.g., anxieties, depressions, addictions, etc.) and not addressing the core issues fueling those symptoms.
