Evolve Ojai offers premier mental health, substance use, and dual diagnosis treatment for teens ages 12-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harming/high-risk behaviors, addiction, suicidality, ADHD, conduct disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and other emotional/behavioral issues. At Evolve, we cater exclusively to adolescents. Our treatment team includes a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, licensed therapists, on-site nurses, counselors and 24-hour support staff. We focus on what we do best: creating a safe, supportive, warm home environment for teens to stabilize and learn practical ways to improve their emotional health. It’s research-proven that teens have specific clinical needs that differ from other age groups. A specialty program like ours can be a safer experience and promote better recovery for your child than other programs which also include adults. Our high staff-patient ratio, deliberately small groups (we only serve up to six teens at any given time), and licensed, experienced clinical team allow us to provide the highest caliber of personalized, evidence-based care.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy Treatment at Evolve
At Evolve Ojai, teens receive individual/family therapy at least five times a week, psychiatric sessions weekly, and daily group sessions on DBT Skills, Anger Management, Relapse Prevention, and Seeking Safety (for co-occurring trauma and substance use). Evolve prides itself on continued staff training and education to ensure we are providing the most current, data-driven treatments for our patients. We invest heavily in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training for our clinicians, as DBT has been research-proven to improve emotion regulation and reduce self-harming behaviors in adolescents. DBT teaches teens how to better control impulses, manage stress, stay mindful, and communicate appropriately and effectively. Our Executive Clinical Director, a respected DBT specialist, has been Intensively trained in DBT through Behavioral Tech (America’s premier DBT institute). She ensures our clinicians utilize DBT – as well as other evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and 12-Step approaches – in the most effective and customized ways for our adolescents.

Our spacious, gated home in Ojai, CA features comfortable accommodations, ample greenspace, a fully equipped gym, separate therapy/school/mindfulness areas, a swimming pool, and onsite chef.
