Hillside®: A Continuum of Care
Hillside® is a nationally recognized treatment facility for children and adolescents specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT.) Hillside ® is the first child and adolescent residential treatment facility awarded the highly coveted and professionally respected DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Program(tm) (dbt-lbc.org). As one of Atlanta's oldest non-profit organization, our mission is to help children and families thrive by providing outstanding residential and community mental health services. Our programs focus on the strengths of our clients and their families and encourage the growth and improvement they need to navigate through life. Hillside® provides specialized cutting edge behavioral treatment through a continuum of care from outpatient therapeutic services to residential treatment with a multidisciplinary team of experts. DBT Treatment for Children & Adolescents
Hillside® specializes in working with children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with emotional and behavioral issues. All of our clinicians have been intensively trained in DBT and continue to receive additional advanced trainings. Hillside is currently the only DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Program(tm) in the Southeast and the only child and adolescent residential treatment facility that is certified by the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification(tm) in the world. Hillside® utilizes specific DBT curriculum to fit the individualized needs of the client and families we serve. Our current program offers: DBT-A (DBT for adolescents,) DBT-C (DBT for children under age 12,) DBT-PE (DBT with Prolong-Exposure Protocol,) as well as Animal-Assisted DBT and Advanced Experiential DBT groups. Multidisciplinary Expertise
Additional treatment services include specialty modalities such as Theraplay®, Recreational Therapy, Horticultural Therapy, Therapeutic Drumming, Expressive Art, Lifeforce Yoga and Animal Assisted Therapy. Our treatment team is comprised of board certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, highly skilled therapists, nurse practitioners along with an experienced team of nurses, certified teachers, and a registered dietitian. Our highly specialized staff recognize how important it is to understand the needs of the children and adolescents we serve, as well as the needs of their families. Our clients follow individualized courses of treatment specially designed for them and in the least restrictive program possible. Our fully accredited school is staffed with a team of highly qualified and certified teachers who are passionate about encouraging our clients to achieve their academic goals as well as gaining the skills to successfully manage their social and emotional needs.
