Newport Academy is a different kind of teen outpatient treatment center. Our philosophy of care is grounded in addressing the root causes of destructive behaviors—the trauma, depression, anxiety, abandonment wounds, and lack of self-esteem that catalyze co-occurring disorders. Our integrated approach guides teens and their families to achieve long-term, sustainable healing from mental health conditions as well as substance abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, and other maladaptive behaviors. Based in clinical expertise and compassionate care, our whole-person treatment model takes into account the physical, psychological, social, educational, and spiritual needs of adolescents. We support young people ages 12 and up in building authentic connection with self; restoring harmony in the family system; and developing supportive relationships with peers. Insurance covers up to 100 percent of the treatment and therapeutic modalities that Newport Academy offers. We accept all major insurance providers and work collaboratively with payers to optimize coverage for families. Many adolescents who receive treatment from Newport Academy using insurance coverage do so through a Single Case Agreement, a special contract through which out-of-network providers can work with a family’s insurance company on an In-Network basis. Newport Academy maintains a full-time, in-house team dedicated to supporting families through the mental health insurance coverage and financing process. In order to secure sufficient insurance coverage, we will most likely need to conduct a series of clinical reviews and any requested doctor-to-doctor calls with the insurance company. While other facilities may charge for this service, we feel it is our responsibility to assist families with what can be a complex process. Our goal is to ensure that families receive the maximum coverage, so they can access the highest-quality treatment.

At Optimum Performance Institute, we offer a continuum of care that includes the Short-Term Residential (STR) and Long-Term Program to assist in navigating the right level of care for young adults. Each program specializes the use of DBT and allied clinical and transitional modalities to treat young adults between the ages 17-28 of all genders who are struggling with emotional dysregulation, interpersonal issues and other challenges to ensure long-term success in life. OPI uniquely flexes support depending upon a client’s needs, whether that is short-term acute stabilization, ongoing outpatient treatment or long-term residential support for everlasting growth. Situated in a safe community close to Los Angeles, clients are able to explore the community through weekly recreational and cultural outings and utilize the rich resources the city provides such as an endless array of school, employment and volunteer opportunities.
