About
Ending the Stigma
Why do people tend to shy away from mental health visits? Research has shown that untreated mental health issues can lead to a decline in physical/medical health. Anxiety and depression may not seem alarming at first but, without support for an extended period of time, it can cause a cascade of life challenges. Supporting mental health has directly resulted in an improvement of physical and emotional well-being. Unfortunately, since there is a such a negative stigma around mental health, it is often forgotten or neglected. We at PCDV are working every day to end the stigma by educating others on how mental health visits should be viewed no different than physical health check-ups with your PCP. All mental health visits do not serve the same purpose, nor do they all require the same level of treatment.
Diverse Team of Professionals
At Psych Choices, we have an array of licensed professionals from various cultures who offer expertise in various areas and subsets of mental health treatment. From master's to doctoral level practitioners, each provider is certified and equipped with evidenced-based approaches in which they receive ongoing continuing education for. PCDV reinforces a lot of in-house collaboration with other providers so that patients have access to the best course of action regarding their mental health progress.
Respect for All
PCDV is a trauma informed and LGBTQI allied practice. We pride ourselves on being sensitive to varying cultures/backgrounds, beliefs, and lifestyles of others regardless if it aligns with our own personal values. Society relies on judgmental and discriminatory patterns, while at Psych Choices we allow individuals to be their true self or embark on a journey where self discovery is encouraged not ridiculed.
