At Samaritan Counseling, Guidance, Consulting, we welcome ALL people, including those who are not able to pay. We counsel adults, children, adolescents, older people, couples (married or unmarried), and families via teletherapy and in-person counseling at multiple sites in Western Pennsylvania. Many folks seek our help because they are struggling from depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship problems, and numerous other conditions. Cove Forge Behavioral Health, located in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, offers an inpatient detoxification program for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, methamphetamines, marijuana, and other substances. Our detox program is designed to help adults safely and comfortably withdraw from substances and begin their recovery journeys. Nursing staff monitors patients 24/7 and provides care during the withdrawal process. At our detox facility, we offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT), an evidence-based treatment method that combines prescription medications with therapy to help individuals physically and psychologically find freedom from opioid addictions. Patients typically stay in our detox program for three to five days, but a patient’s specific needs and circumstances determine their actual length of stay. We are committed to providing compassionate care to support patients on their path to recovery.

White Deer Run, a network of 16 treatment centers located throughout Pennsylvania, provides care for adults who are afflicted with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Our staff of professionals at each location consist of a doctor, a psychiatrist, licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, technicians, counselors, therapists, and other specialists. These teams work together to treat those who are addicted to substances such as alcohol, prescription drugs, opioids, heroin, cocaine, meth, stimulants, inhalants, and synthetic marijuana. Also, treatment is supplied to individuals who are diagnosed with co-occurring conditions that include depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. At White Deer Run, our primary goal is to provide treatment to individuals who need assistance in overcoming their substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. We can effectively do that through the provision of programming that includes a partial hospitalization program (PHP), medically monitored detoxification, gender-specific halfway houses, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), a traditional outpatient program (OP), and residential rehabilitation.

Our residential program also serves adults whose struggles with addiction are accompanied by co-occurring mental health conditions, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. In our residential program, clients can take part in an array of therapeutic interventions that give them the opportunity to reflect on their experiences, explore possible reasons why they may have started using drugs or alcohol, and learn coping skills that can help prevent future relapse. They may participate in group, individual, family, and experiential therapies, and they also have access to medication management services, detoxification services, and 24/7 medical care. The average length of stay at Mount Regis Center is 30-35 days.

Farrell Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Farrell, Pennsylvania, specializes in offering outpatient treatment for adults age 18 and older who have opioid addictions. We provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which combines prescription medication with counseling to address the unique needs of each person. MAT is an evidence-based approach that is widely utilized by methadone clinics and has demonstrated positive outcomes in promoting recovery. In MAT, each person receives a personalized treatment plan that considers their strengths, background, and treatment goals. At Farrell CTC, we prescribe methadone, a medication that has been shown to alleviate painful withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings for opioids. Our MAT program also incorporates group and individual counseling sessions. These sessions are guided by qualified professionals and cover topics such as healthy coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and life skills. By combining methadone with therapy, our goal is to empower people to achieve long-term healing and recovery from opioid addiction.

Opioid addiction can negatively impact virtually every part of a person’s life. In addition to damaging a person’s physical and mental health, an untreated opioid addiction can also undermine their ability to maintain healthy relationships, make appropriate progress in school or at work, establish financial independence, and otherwise fully engage in a satisfying lifestyle. Thankfully, opioid addiction is a treatable condition. Several decades of research has documented the effectiveness of medication-assisted treatment, or MAT, in helping people end their opioid use and remain in recovery. MAT uses prescription medications that can ease some of the more severe symptoms of opioid withdrawal. These medications allow MAT patients to stop using opioids without experiencing the overwhelming distress that would occur if they tried to end their substance abuse on their own. MAT patients also participate in counseling. The counseling component of MAT addresses the social and behavioral aspects of opioid addiction and recovery. Counseling can help MAT patients understand the root causes of their struggles with opioid addiction and identify triggers that could threaten their recovery.
