For many, this trauma may have come as a result of adverse childhood experiences, such as divorce, abuse or neglect, observing violence or being the victim of bullying; while for others, it could be a more recent experience. Our goal is to identify and treat the trauma through our trauma-focused care, build resilience, and provide tools and healthy coping skills to help deal with triggers and future issues that arise. The result of doing this work is a reduction in depression and anxiety symptoms, suicidal ideation, and no longer needing to turn to alcohol or substances to cope with feelings triggered by trauma.
