Specialized Crisis Care for Teens
OASIS Ascent provides specialized care for teens, ages 12-17, experiencing a mental health crisis. While each crisis is unique, it often involves intense thoughts, behaviors, or emotions that significantly impair their lives. Teens at OASIS struggle with a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. They may also exhibit behavioral issues like anger, family conflict, lying, manipulation, risky behaviors, impulsivity, running away, and promiscuous behavior. These issues can escalate into crises that disrupt their mental health and daily functioning, causing them to need specialized care and support. Teens who come to OASIS Ascent are provided a safe and secure environment where they can stabilize and begin to heal and are provided with immediate relief and long-term support. Comprehensive Treatment Approach at OASIS Ascent
OASIS Ascent’s approach to treatment focuses on the following pillars: Observation, Assessment, Stabilization, and Intensive Support. To provide individualized care, teens are first observed and assessed by a clinical team, ensuring a thorough understanding of each teen's situation and needs. Stabilization at OASIS involves ensuring immediate safety and utilizing a range of therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy, medication management, and experiential therapies like art and recreation. The program, which typically lasts 60-90 days, also addresses academic needs through an on-site accredited school and emphasizes family involvement throughout the treatment process. As teens prepare to transition back home or to a less restrictive environment, they are given intensive support, including transition meetings and guidance for families in determining the most appropriate next steps for their teen's continued care.
