In order to ensure effective care, we built a brand new state-of-the-art detox unit in 2010. Along with our inpatient treatment program, our 22-bed detox unit is staffed 24-hours a day, giving our patients assurance that they are continuously cared for by our seasoned medical professionals. Upon a proper admission and evaluation, both our medical team and clinical staff will customize unique and individual treatment plans suited to each patient's specific needs. Clearbrook's substance abuse treatment program is centered on the belief that alcoholism and chemical dependency is a primary disease. Thus, our approach to treatment is utilizing the Minnesota Model, or otherwise known as the abstinence model, as well as incorporating the 12-step model of recovery into treatment goals and aftercare planning.

We offer a full continuum of services, including Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient ( IOP), and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) with overnight residence.
The Intensive Outpatient Program is group-based and provides a full range of multidisciplinary services including: group psychotherapy, art therapy, yoga, DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) skill-focused groups as well as supervised eating and goal setting. The program, for males and females ages 16 and older, is 3 evenings a week, 4:30pm-7:30pm. You may be self-referred or by your clinician, family, or treatment center. Individuals in the IOP continue with their outpatient therapist. If you do not have an outpatient team, we will provide referrals.

The Nichols House Couples Intensive serves couples who feel disconnected, stuck, or trapped in what Dr. Nichols calls the "Roommate Syndrome"—living together but no longer feeling close, connected, or understood. Unlike traditional weekly counseling, our private intensive weekend provides focused, uninterrupted time to identify destructive patterns, rebuild emotional connection, and develop practical tools for lasting change. Couples stay in a beautiful and private Victorian home.
