About

What Makes Us Different?

The foundation of our programming is our team of compassionate and highly experienced behavioral healthcare professionals. The Newport staff is comprised of the best mental health leaders in the country, surrounding each client with 360-degree care. Because Newport’s philosophy of care views family as central to long-term, sustainable healing, the groundbreaking Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) methodology is also a central component of our approach. ABFT is proven to be successful in addressing adolescent and young adult suicidality by repairing ruptures in the parent-child relationship. Our clinicians receive ongoing training and consultation from ABFT’s co-founders, and are also trained in a wide range of other evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities, including EMDR, DBT, CBT, and ACT.

Insurance/In-Network Provider

At Newport Institute, we know that treatment financing can make all the difference in receiving quality treatment. To that end, we promote collaborative relationships with all healthcare payers to optimize the benefit coverage for families in need. We accept all major insurance, and up to 100 percent of our services are covered. Our goal is to partner with insurers to address the adolescent and young adult mental health crisis, by reaching more families and helping them achieve sustainable recovery. If you’re interested in exploring the possibility of treatment at Newport Institute for your loved one’s mental health, behavioral health, or substance abuse issues, we can begin the insurance verification process immediately. Furthermore, we are happy to obtain your insurance policy information and seek verification on your behalf. You can also expedite this process by completing the insurance verification form on our website. There is no obligation to either Newport Institute or to your insurance provider.

Full Continuum of Care

Newport Institute provides options for teens and families at each step along the journey of healing. Our full continuum of care includes residential treatment centers; a full suite of outpatient programming, with Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient services with a flexible number of days per week; continuing care through virtual sessions; and a robust Alumni program providing online and in-person events and support groups. All of our programs are accredited by the Joint Commission for Behavioral Healthcare. Through an in-depth assessment process, our clinical experts determine the optimal level of care for each client, at one of our residential or outpatient locations around the country. Clients can step down from our residential care directly into our outpatient programming, to ensure a smooth transition and consistent clinical approach. Or an adolescent can enroll in our outpatient programming to receive the ongoing support, structure, and community that’s not available in weekly therapy. No matter where a young person is on their path to recovery, we provide the customized care they need to thrive.
