Teen and Young Adult Outpatient Program
Newport Academy’s Northern California outpatient program in Sacramento provides primary mental health and primary substance use disorder treatment for adolescent boys and girls ages 13–18 and their families. Our full-day Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and partial-day Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) help young people gain resilience and healthy coping tools. Our virtual IOP allows young adults ages 18–35 to access care from home. Each level of care includes individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based clinical and experiential modalities. Our full-day PHP includes a fully accredited academic curriculum. Based in clinical expertise and compassionate care, our whole-person treatment model considers the physical, emotional, social, and educational needs of adolescents. We utilize industry-validated modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and more. Our clients participate in regular family therapy sessions to reestablish parent-child communication and connection. We also offer experiential activities to help teens build trust, self-esteem, resilience, and other critical life skills. These may include art and music therapy, yoga, meditation, and outdoor activities in the area’s parks and hiking trails.
