Residential Behavioral Healthcare for Girls 12-17
Muir Wood Adolescent and Family Services provides integrated, residential behavioral healthcare to treat mental health and substance use disorders. The Muir Wood Girls’ Program is a gender-specific (girls only), trauma-informed program designed to help girls 12 to 17 feel safe, supported, and comfortable while receiving holistic treatment. Muir Wood treats a wide range of mental health and substance use conditions including, addictive disorders, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, suicidal ideation, trauma, and mood disorders such as bipolar depression and schizophrenia. Located in beautiful and serene Sonoma County, our treatment campuses are highly supervised and positive home-like environments where teen girls can feel comfortable sharing sensitive issues, benefit from a strong therapeutic alliance and be inspired by supportive peers. In addition to intensive individual and group therapy, recreational and experiential therapies, and psychoeducation, Muir Wood also integrates extensive family programming.
Comprehensive Treatment and Programming
The Muir Woods Girl’s Program takes a holistic approach to behavioral healthcare. Clients receive thorough medical and psychological assessments and testing to inform highly personalized treatment plans which integrate psychiatry, psychotherapy, academic programming, psychoeducation, experiential and recreational therapies, and other specialized treatment modalities as needed. The Muir Wood Girl’s program affords the expertise and safe space for clients to address the deep-seated issues, including identity, trauma, or other existing mental health issues, that can challenge recovery and improved mental health. Gender-informed care ensures that the interactions between clients, treatment providers, and peers are supportive and that group therapy topics are relevant and informative. Through measurement-based care and close personal attention, Muir Wood helps clients and families effectively plan for ongoing treatment needs after completing treatment at Muir Wood.
