Mt. Sinai is located on 43 acres in the Northeast Georgia Mountains. We are a premier dual diagnosis inpatient treatment center. We offer detox and residential levels of care. At Mount Sinai Wellness Center, we use evidence-based practices and integrative therapies in our Georgia addiction treatment programs to help men and women take on the challenges of drug and alcohol dependence. Premier Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Mental health disorders and addiction often go hand in hand, which is why it’s critical that rehab centers offer dual diagnosis treatment programs. At Mount Sinai Wellness Center, we have several programs that help patients address behavioral health problems. These issues are often a driving factor in addiction, and taking the time to identify and manage them helps patients reduce the risk of relapse.
Medical Detox
Getting clean and sober from drugs and alcohol takes more than willpower. Both the body and mind are involved in drug addiction, and both go through withdrawal when the addict no longer gets the substance they crave. That’s part of what makes detox so intimidating and fear-inducing for drug addicts, because of the anticipation of the physically, emotionally, and mentally taxing process of withdrawal. The good news is, you can and will get through detox with the help of our skilled addiction medicine specialists at Mount Sinai Wellness Center. There are several approaches to successful detox, but it takes qualified medical professionals to help get the substances out of your system safely. Attempting to detox on your own, or going “cold turkey,” is highly discouraged and is actually dangerous, because abruptly stopping can be life-threatening. For example, people addicted to benzodiazepines or alcohol are at risk for seizures, alcoholics have a higher risk of delirium and vomiting, and heroin addicts may have cold flashes and uncontrolled leg movements.
