Millcreek of Pontotoc operates multiple group home locations across northern Mississippi for children and adolescents ages 12-20 who are struggling with mental health concerns or emotional disturbances. These group homes are separated by gender and provide a structured and supportive setting for young people who need professional supervision or a safe place to live due to challenging life circumstances. At our group homes, our main goal is to encourage independent living skills and support our students in their day-to-day lives. Each group home offers 24/7 supervision, trained staff members, therapies, and individualized treatment plans. Compared with an outpatient or therapeutic day program, the intensive programming found in our group homes offers a more immersive and comprehensive approach to meet the needs of our students. The purpose of each group home is to create a safe and compassionate environment that promotes personal growth and well-being.

Millcreek of Pontotoc, located in Pontotoc, Mississippi, offers a fully funded and accredited therapeutic day school treatment program for children and adolescents ages 6-21. This education program is specifically designed for those who require more intensive behavioral and educational help than a traditional education environment can provide. Students who participate in our residential or group home program attend our day school, but young people can enter the education program without completing another level of care first. Our education program provides quality care and education for students who have oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, and other mood and behavioral disorders. We offer a structured curriculum that aligns with Mississippi educational standards while incorporating therapeutic activities and strategies to address mental health concerns.

Millcreek of Pontotoc, located in Pontotoc, Mississippi, offers residential treatment programs for children, adolescents, and young adults ages 6-21 who have mental health concerns and require a higher level of care than a typical outpatient treatment program can provide. Our residential program consists of three cottages situated on a spacious, 20-acre campus and is designed to address the intensive behavioral and educational needs of young people throughout northern Mississippi. Young people stay in cabins based on their age, gender, and specific needs. Typically, residents spend three to six months in residential treatment and receive schooling in our day treatment program. We believe that every young person deserves a nurturing and supportive environment where they can feel valued and can freely express themselves. To be eligible for residential treatment, youths must have a primary psychiatric diagnosis, have had unsuccessful inpatient or outpatient mental health treatment in the past, and obtain a letter of recommendation from a psychiatrist or another mental health professional within 60 days of admission.

Our team has the experience and knowledge to understand that oftentimes, drug and alcohol addiction are intertwined with mental illness. In fact, 1 in 4 adults with a mental illness also have a substance abuse disorder, and some studies show that as many as half of all individuals with drug or alcohol addictions also have a mental disorder of some kind. There are many reasons for this, and because the two are so closely tied together, it’s challenging to treat one issue without treating the other.
