We start planning each person’s aftercare on their first day of treatment so that their plan is as comprehensive as possible. This is a collaborative process in which a person works together with a discharge planner, their treatment team, and members of their family, as appropriate, to determine the next steps in their recovery journey. This might include transitioning to another level of care or receiving a referral to an outside provider, along with identifying any community resources they may need and specific areas to continue focusing on. STAR Guides is an outdoor therapeutic program designed for youth and young adults who are struggling with problematic sexual behavior. STAR Guides provides families with navigation through these challenges. Regardless of past behaviors, we believe that all youth can learn to achieve healthy sexuality. Research suggests that for many, sexual problematic behavior first begins during the adolescent years. STAR Guides helps youth to deal with these problems while they are still young. Many youth in today's modern world find themselves lost and in need of direction as they attempt to navigate the thick darkness that accompanies sexual behavior problems. Just as the ancient peoples of the world, they are in need of STAR Guides. Calo Programs offers residential treatment for adolescents, teens, and young adults of all genders ages 9-20 that is uniquely focused and specially equipped to treat students and families impacted by traumatic experiences which occurred in the developmental period, such as adoption, chronic stress, and inconsistent care from caregivers. These adolescents struggle to be in healthy relationship with family and peers, experience emotional dysregulation, and often fail to maintain safe behavior in school or at home. With a foundational focus on safety and creating repetitive experiences of co-regulation through relationship, our students begin the journey towards developing a healthy sense of self. This enables them to engage with the resources and relationships that they have previously rejected.
