About Millcreek Behavioral Health
Located in Fordyce, Arkansas, Millcreek Behavioral Health is a privately licensed treatment center for children and adolescents who are struggling with intellectual difficulties and/or severe emotional and behavioral disturbances. Offering specific programming for various disorders on two separate campuses, we provide the highest quality of residential care for children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 17. Millcreek is unique in that we provide specialized treatment tracks for ICF/IDD, autism spectrum disorders, sexually reactive behaviors, psychiatric disorders, and dual diagnosis. Millcreek's multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, case managers, certified recreational therapists, nutritionists, licensed clinical therapists, and registered nurses, aim to provide optimal treatment in the least restrictive environment possible. We are able to do this by providing our patients with treatment offered in natural surroundings spread out across 37 acres of beautiful landscape, rather than in a traditional, high-rise, locked hospital. As of February of 2014, we have completed a new residential treatment building, along with a recently constructed multi-purpose building that includes a gymnasium and cafeteria. Through every step of therapeutic process, we do all that we can to make your child's stay as comfortable as possible.
Program and Levels of Care
At Millcreek, we recognize that everyone who comes to us for care has their own unique set of concerns that need to be met. We make it our goal to meet children where they are at in their mental or behavioral struggles, development disabilities, or substance abuse concerns by offering specialized programming in order to treat a variety of issues. Our long-term residential treatment program provides developmental programming for children and teens who are struggling with intellectual disabilities and/or other related developmental disabilities. Through a structured setting aimed at helping our patients acquire adaptive behavioral skills, we develop individualized program plans tailored to meet each child's needs. Our psychiatric residential treatment center provides a cognitive-behavioral approach to treating children and adolescents who are struggling with psychiatric difficulties. This program offers patients the chance to address issues directly related to their diagnoses while providing them with the respect, dignity, and support that they need for true success. Millcreek Behavioral Health also recognizes the extreme importance that academics play in a child's development so we provide a specialized school environment that is approved by the Arkansas Department of Education.
Admissions Process
The staff at Millcreek Behavioral Health knows that making the decision to get treatment for your child can be one of the hardest things that you do as a parent, which is why we strive to make the admissions process an easy and comfortable one. Each patient who comes to Millcreek receives a diagnostic assessment, a medical assessment, and a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation in order to identify the initial presenting diagnoses and to determine his or her treatment needs. Based on those findings, a master treatment plan is established and then reviewed by the psychiatrist. This treatment plan lays out the goals and objectives for treatment within each identified problem area and includes the specific intervention components that will be utilized.
