At the Retreat Clinic, we focus on addiction, providing: outpatient services including individual therapy, group therapy, addiction medicine services, outpatient opioid detoxification and family support. All treatments are evidence-based, which means they have been tested and proven to provide predictable outcomes and long-term recovery. During assessment, we'll complete a customized care plan and update it as treatment progresses. For individuals with a complicating mental health disorder, we'll treat both conditions at the same time. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians, psychiatrists, nurses and masters prepared counselors are certified in addictions.

Formerly Sanford Addiction Treatment Centers, Sanford Behavioral Health is a residential and outpatient addiction, mental health, and eating disorder treatment center located in Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our newest facility, Sanford West Behavioral Health Campus, is located 12 miles from downtown Grand Rapids, in Marne, Michigan. Sanford West is well positioned to treat high acuity patients with an integrated approach to addiction and co-occurring disorders, eating disorders, mental health and medical conditions. All of our programs are backed by a multi-disciplinary team of medical and clinical professionals, and most of our programs are available in-person or via telehealth. Our continuum of care includes: Detox; Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP); Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Medical Management; Outpatient Programs; and one-on-one and family counseling. Sanford West houses the first standalone residential eating disorder treatment center in Michigan. And although it is a big, sprawling campus, program areas are strategically divided into more intimate spaces.

Each of Sanford’s five facilities in Greater Grand Rapids, is carefully crafted to create a welcoming and comforting environment. Sanford is led by a growing team of medical, clinical, and support personnel providing medication-assisted, evidenced-based treatment to residential, outpatient and telehealth patients. Sanford House at John Street is a residential facility for adult men (18 and older). The male gendered counterpart to Cherry Street for Women, John Street offers 24/7 structured living. We provide detox, clinical programming, medical management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and male gendered therapeutic approaches. There are 20 beds for residential treatment. We offer adult female gendered individuals an intimate, homelike and decidedly non-institutional environment in which to heal. Residents live onsite while they attend group, individual, and family therapy sessions, receive medical and psychiatric check-ups, and participate in wellness activities. This option provides 24/7 access to the support of our full medical team. Our clinicians offer specialized care and follow a program that accentuates each woman’s inherent values and strengths.

At Samaritas, we offer a continuum of care to individuals who are struggling with substance use disorders. Individuals who may struggle with alcohol or substances and want positive supports can request an SUD assessment. The assessment will help to determine the best approach to help solve their areas of concern. Samaritas offers SUD assessments, case mangement, recovery coaching, individual therapy, group therapy and medicated assisted treatment.
