Day Program for Adults
Our Catalyst Day Program in Wheaton is designed for adults 18 years and older. It is designed to be less restrictive than a hospital or residential program while providing a higher level of care than is available through outpatient counseling. This intensive treatment program may be the perfect answer for those who are not making satisfactory progress through outpatient counseling, need to move through an issue more quickly due to a life crisis, or as a step-down from hospital/residential care. The treatment plan is customized to meet the individual's unique needs, integrating psychological, physical and spiritual components. Many clients find comfort in the fact that we are Christian based so they have confidence the care they receive will not conflict with their beliefs. Whether or not clients are Christian, they receive equal respect and quality care in a safe environment. Our treatment team includes a psychiatrist, psychologists, a nurse, and master level counselors who work together to provide educational, life skills and problem-solving groups; individual counseling sessions; medication management; and other treatment interventions as needed. Visit our website at meierclinics.org to read comments from former clients who found the healing and hope they needed.
Outpatient Counseling
Meier Clinics has been providing outpatient counseling in Wheaton since 1987 and has satellite branches in Chicago, Geneva, Northbrook, and Lawndale. We work with clients of all ages, couples and families who are seeking help for a variety of mental health and relational issues. Our staff incorporates Christian principles with sound psychological treatment in designing and providing a treatment plan suitable for each individual, couple or family. Our staff includes adult psychiatrists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, neuropsychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed master level counselors, and doctoral interns/students. We offer a broad continuum of care including psychological/neuropsychological testing and medication management in addition to general counseling services. We encourage those who have been struggling with life issues to give us a call; that's the first step to finding the help and healing needed to once again enjoy the fullness of life. Our dedicated Intake staff are available to speak with clients on the phone Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to provide brief phone assessments to determine if Outpatient counseling or another program is best suited according to the specific needs of the individual, couple or family.
Breakaway After-school Program for Teens
Adolescence can be a very confusing and difficult time of life. We understand the many problems and challenges teens face which also affects the parents and other family members. Breakaway is an intensive outpatient program for teens 14-18 years of age who need a structured, safe environment to work through issues that are causing them conflict, confusion, and fear. This program is at the Wheaton clinic and generally is four weeks long, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m. Participants receive individual and group therapy along with medication assessment/management, and a weekly educational support group is provided for parents. An aftercare group is also available for an hour, one day a week for graduates of the program to continue building on the lessons they have learned. Participation in this program helps teens establish a firm foundation upon which to start building a more well-balanced, healthier and happier life style for the present as well as the future. We encourage parents and/or teens to contact our office at 630-653-1717 to discuss in more detail how this program may be of benefit and how it differs from regular outpatient counseling.
