Barbara Harrison is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a Certified Advanced Practice Addiction Registered Nurse and a Maryland State approved Substance Abuse Supervisor. Ms. Harrison is Certified in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). She is a member of the International Nurses Society on Addictions.

Our 32-acre open college-like campus on the border of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia. In addition, The Barry Robinson offers an Intensive Outpatient program (IOP) for adolescents and young adults (18-24) with diagnoses including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD and who use drugs or alcohol. This service is currently offered at our Norfolk location as well as through Telehealth communications. Intensive Outpatient program is not specific to only military families.

The Freedom Center is an intensive outpatient program covering all types of drug and alcohol addiction that offers a flexible and affordable solution that has the ability to change the lives of those suffering in addiction. During outpatient treatment, clients receive therapy while continuing other life responsibilities like school, work or family responsibilities; and unlike residential programs, at The Freedom House, the client has the ability to live at home or in a sober living environment. Unlike many traditional rehab centers, our goal is to treat all of the underlying causes of addiction effectively, including trauma and mental health conditions.

Continuum Recovery Services (CRS) at Continuum of Care consists of 4 levels of residential treatment and care for adults ages 18 and up who are challenged with mental health and potentially co-occurring disorders. Clients can access treatment to any of these levels of care and move to a higher or a lower level of care as their needs change. Continuum offers short-term and long-term residential treatment in an intimate personalized setting. Clients live in a home-like setting that provides low stimulation compared to traditional institutional settings.
