Your bright and engaging child is struggling, and in need of primary intervention, stabilization, and a change of environment. As a concerned parent of a 13-18-year old, you may be looking at options such as residential treatment centers or wilderness programs. Wouldn’t it be comforting if you knew your child could receive the intervention, therapy, structure and supervision they need to achieve stabilization, while also having a clear path to pursue the next step in their social, emotional and academic journey? All on the same, familiar campus, reducing the potential of complications that often occur due to multiple transitions between programs?

Newport Academy Outpatient
Treatment Center
At Newport Academy, our integrated approach to teen mental health is founded in compassion and driven by outcomes. Our philosophy of care recognizes teen behavioral issues, such as substance abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, and other co-occurring disorders, as symptoms of underlying mental health challenges—trauma, depression, and/or anxiety. To support our teens and their families in achieving long-term, sustainable healing from these issues, we address the root causes through comprehensive and solutions-focused treatment that involves the entire family in the healing process. Our mission to empower teens and restore families takes into account every aspect of a teen’s well-being—physical, psychological, social, familial, educational, and spiritual— so they can thrive when they return home to their families, schools, and communities. To ensure that our care is truly evidence-based, we track a variety of treatment goals and commission rigorous third-party evaluations of our programming. Data on our outcomes shows consistent positive results in measures of well-being, depression, and anxiety, with patients’ improvements, on average, exceeding levels of clinical significance.

Located in Stockbridge, MA, with a national referral base, the Austen Riggs Center is an open and voluntary hospital-based continuum of care for adults (18+) with complex psychiatric problems. We offer a range of interventions within an integrated psychodynamic framework. An emphasis is placed on patient authority and responsibility while examining the meaning behind behaviors and how behaviors impact relationships. We treat the individual, not just the diagnosis. Patients come to us with multiple diagnoses, but we understand that these labels do not necessarily capture the essence of their struggles or strengths. In addition, through our Remote Access Intensive Outpatient Program we offer online treatment to emerging adults (18-26) in Massachusetts or New York.

Embark Behavioral Health operates an exceptional network of treatment and therapy programs across the United States. We specialize in preteens, teens, and young adults, struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental health and substance abuse issues. Our programs include in-home treatment, virtual coaching and counseling, outpatient clinics, wilderness therapy, short-term residential programs, long-term residential treatment, therapeutic boarding schools, and young adult transitional living options. Mental health problems are common among youth and can make things like school, socializing, work and everyday life more difficult. In fact, one in five adolescents, ages 12-18, live with a mental health condition; and between 20-30% will have one major depressive episode before they reach adulthood. Half of all lifetime cases of mental disorders will first present by age 14 and 75% will present by age 24. This is why it is a critical time to find expert help and address issues.
