Adult Partial Hospitalization Program
At Life Center of Galax, we provide a premier partial hospitalization program (PHP) for people who are in need of structured care for behavioral health concerns that have impacted their ability to function in their daily lives. In our PHP, we deliver evidence-based, life-changing treatment for those who are struggling with substance use disorders and certain co-occurring concerns. This addiction treatment program can be beneficial for adults age 18 and older who do not require 24-hour supervision or live-in care to achieve their goals. Our PHP typically takes an average of 10-21 days to complete, but each patient’s actual length of programming depends on their needs. Adults may enter this program directly or as a step-down to a less restrictive level of care from an inpatient or residential setting. In some cases, a person may step up to our PHP when traditional outpatient services cannot provide them with the support they need. Treatment Approach
At our treatment center, we are committed to taking a person-centered approach to care. This means that we customize each person’s treatment plan to reflect their needs, strengths, and preferences. We begin by conducting an in-depth evaluation for every patient to assess their symptoms, mental and physical health, history of substance use, and goals for treatment. This helps us ensure that we incorporate only the therapeutic modalities that can offer them the greatest benefit. Based on their unique needs, a patient’s treatment can include medication management services, basic medical care, individual counseling, family sessions, and group therapy. In our PHP, we also offer a variety of experiential therapies, such as role-playing, gestalt therapy, journaling, crafting, gardening, and team-building activities. Our Treatment Center
Located in Galax, Virginia, our recently updated treatment center features comfortable patient lounges, a large porch for relaxation, an on-site gym, and areas for outdoor activities like gardening. We have annual and perennial flower beds in addition to a robust vegetable garden where patients can plant and nurture vegetables. We are pleased to offer off-campus housing for adults who live beyond commuting distance of our treatment center. For those who utilize our housing service, we provide transportation to our facility, 12-Step meetings, and local activities.
