Nurturing Parenting
Raising healthy, happy children is not automatic, and parenting can be the hardest thing you will ever do in your lifetime, and we can help! Nurturing Parenting is designed to support and empower parents and caregivers in learning new skills or enhancing skills as you explore and navigate raising children with care and affection. The lifelong relationship between parents and their children can form the strongest bonds when both sides learn healthy ways of navigating challenges and change.
Anger Management | Thursdays 6-7:30 pm
Anger is a natural feeling. But sometimes, how we handle these emotions can get out of control. Intense, challenging anger can disrupt our lives and damage our relationships. Kindred Place’s Managing Anger and Strong Emotions classes, supported by a licensed therapist, teach adults age 18 and over how to understand, self-validate, and manage their feelings in healthier ways. Participants will learn to approach anger with curiosity and regulate their emotions using coping techniques and skills that will positively impact their lives. These 10-week group sessions are taught at Kindred Place on Thursdays from 6–7:30 pm.
Making Relationships Work | Saturdays from 10-12
Drawing on the work of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this fast-paced workshop will introduce you and your partner to ideas and activities that can strengthen and enrich your relationship. Benefits of attending: Learn how to accommodate each other’s needs without sacrificing your own; learn how to find solutions to those “everyday” problems that couples fight over; learn skills to manage conflict constructively; learn how to connect on a deeper level; learn to notice when your partner is trying and how to respond.
