Parkdale Center focuses on the treatment of “Professionals.” Our treatment program is designed to be most helpful for adults in careers with substantial stressors and responsibilities. Our patients are often highly-motivated, well-educated, successful, and career-driven. These professionals may inadvertently place their licenses, certifications, or positions in their company at risk because of their substance use. In some cases, they may also face legal action if caught using substances on the job, diverting medications from work, or in some cases, working while impaired. In a worst-case scenario, they may ultimately put others at risk because of their unmanaged or undiagnosed SUD. We offer a supportive, judgment-free environment where our patients can begin to recover from their substance use disorder, but they will receive unparalleled ongoing support and assistance with legal, licensing, professional, and regulatory issues that may arise as a result of their SUD.

We are a group of mental health professionals - psychologists, mental health counselors, and psychiatric nurse practitioners - who will help you deal with circumstances that hinder the quality of your life and relationships with family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. We are a general practice, but specialize in assessment and treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, autism spectrum, attention deficit, and other developmental disorders of childhood. Our psychiatric nurse practitioner, Dr. Shemecia Forthner, has extensive experience in mental health inpatient, outpatient, and Veterans Administration facilities. We have three convenient locations, in Greenwood (633 Library Park Drive, Suite K), Martinsville, and Bloomington, Indiana. Teletherapy and telemedicine services for Indiana residents also are available. Hendricks Behavioral Hospital offers inpatient psychiatric crisis stabilization for adults and adolescents (ages 13 to 17) and medical detoxification services for adults. Our mental and behavioral health program addresses issues such as: suicidal ideations, self-harm, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, co-occurring disorders and trauma accompanied by behavioral and mental health issues. We currently offer detox services for alcohol, opiates and benzodiazepines. We also offer both psychiatric and dual diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for both adults and adolescents.
