The Center for Effective Artistry specializes in working with clients exploring neurodivergence, ADHD, ASD, AuDHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar, trauma, queerness, gender, race, religion, climate grief, and substance use.
The founder of our center, Brandon Tessers, is a nationally-known expert in neurodiversity, creativity, and executive functioning. Executive functioning is what allows you to take any idea, desire or decision in your head and actually do something to bring it into reality. We work with our staff on developing their own unique therapeutic approaches for clients with diverse identities. There is no one-size-fits-all approach at Effective Artistry. Many of our clients come to us frustrated with the formula of the therapy industry, which oftentimes focuses on pathologies and deficiencies. Our clients come to us tired of having therapists give them an "answer" that doesn't work for them. We see the strengths in our clients. We approach our clients with unconditional positive regard, respect, and autonomy. We lead with authenticity, and cultural humility, knowing that we can't possibly know everything. Our company culture is to challenge each other to grow and continue to be on the leading edge of the therapy industry. We have therapists who are EMDR-trained. Our approach emphasizes building shared language with the client that facilitates deep, meaningful changes.

We do therapy because it works. We develop treatment programs in collaboration with each individual. They are designed to be flexible and travel well into your life outside the therapy room. Treatment focuses on alleviating suffering and increasing your connection with what’s important in your life.
The spirit of our approach is active and genuine. We embrace imperfection as a natural state of being and view mistakes as portals for learning. We regard humor and humility as invaluable tools and use them to change our perspectives.

Alpine Academy students often face severe anxiety and depression, making it hard to succeed at home, school, and with friends. Many have experienced trauma and struggle to express overwhelming emotions. Though typically bright, emotional challenges can disrupt classroom success and peer relationships. Students may withdraw from school and social activities, turning to social media or gaming instead. They tend to internalize their pain, with some using self-harm or suicidal behaviors as coping methods. Despite these struggles, they usually want to reconnect with their hobbies and interests.

We provide virtual ADHD and Autism testing in addition to our therapy services.
Your mental health is an important dimension to your overall well-being. Oftentimes, we all feel bombarded by the demands of everyday life: your workplace, your family, your social life, your health, and your own personal history all contribute to (or detract from) your mental and physical health. Many people believe that therapy is only for those with "serious" problems and wait until things get worse or unmanageable before reaching out for help. Whether that is the case or not, therapy can be helpful regardless of how "serious" your circumstances are and can offer you the relief and clarity you need to move forward. Our clients come from a wide array of backgrounds with conditions ranging from mild depression or anxiety to chronic Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, OCD, and personality disorders.

What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.
How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.
How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.
How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
