IHI provides accessible, expert LGBTQ+ affirming psychotherapy from empathic therapists who are LGBTQ+-identified and allied. IHI is the nation’s first and longest-running LGBTQ+-affirming psychotherapy and clinical training center, and we support people of all gender identities, sexual orientation, and racial, ethnic, and cultural intersectionalities. Our Approach
IHI's expert, licensed professional psychotherapists, clinical supervisors, and advanced clinical interns are all highly equipped to meet the unique needs of LGBTQ+ individuals. Our services can help you navigate the ups and downs of life and the ongoing challenges we face as sexually- and gender-diverse people. In addition to traditional treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and other mental health challenges, we can also help you explore your gender identity and/or sexual orientation, address relationship problems, help you through your coming out process, plan for family building, or support your own journey to self acceptance. Our approaches are anti-racist, trauma-informed, and framed from an intersectional. strengths-based perspective. Our therapists practice an array of integrative, therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic, humanistic, existential, solution-focused therapies, and more.

Currently meeting via tele-therapy. A therapeutic space for Queer and Trans People of Color to process their experiences. Navigating life at the intersection of multiple identities—especially those that are historically marginalized—can be challenging and even traumatic, yet can also bring deep strength, connection, and joy. In what ways do our identities bring meaning and pride into our lives and our sense of self? In what ways are we needing to heal? Led by QTPOC clinicians, this group aims to provide support, share coping skills, build safe and affirming community, and foster individual and collective strength and resiliency. Cost $10.
