About

Program Overview

Houston Center for Valued Living offer Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services for individuals experiencing Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Phobias (animal phobia, needle phobia, driving phobia), Agoraphobia and Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder / Excessive Worrying, and Social Anxiety. In addition we offer intensive support services for individuals struggling with failure to launch / transition into adulthood. Our IOP provides a compassionate and structured therapeutic environment of 3 hour sessions, 3-5 days per week. Sessions can be conducted in person or virtually. IOP can benefit people in various situations, such as those transitioning from residential or hospitalized treatment, people who are on leave from school or work, or individuals who need more support than a weekly appointment with an outpatient therapist.

What We Treat

When you arrive at HCFVL you will work with your clinician who will complete a psychological evaluation and develop a customized treatment plan. All treatments are individualized, and involve one-on-one sessions with a team member. Evidence based treatments such as Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are utilized. In addition, psychoeducation, supportive sessions for loved ones, and family sessions may be incorporated. As needed for your specific treatment, exposure sessions are frequently conducted outside of the office (at the client’s home, at grocery stores, in the car, etc).
