Child & Adolescent Inpatient Treatment
Harbor Oaks Hospital offers a premier inpatient program for children and adolescents ages 4-17 who are struggling with disruptive symptoms of mental health concerns. In the pediatric inpatient program, we provide separate units for children and teens, including a specialized inpatient pediatric unit (SIPU) for those who have an autism spectrum disorder or intellectual disability diagnosis. The average length of stay in the inpatient program is seven to 10 days, although patients in the SIPU may require a longer length of stay, typically 14-28 days. We strive to meet each young person where they are on their journey to improved wellness, providing them with the focused support and age-appropriate services they need to get well. During treatment, our patients receive evidence-based care that can include cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. Our team understands that children and adolescents may respond differently to certain therapies, and we are committed to getting to know our patients personally so that we can provide them with the most effective interventions for their needs.
