Located in Atlanta, Skyland Trail is a nonprofit mental health treatment organization serving adults and teens. Through our residential and day treatment programs, we help our clients grow, recover, and reclaim their lives. In our adult programs, we specialize in treating adults ages 18 and older with bipolar illness, major depression, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and anxiety disorders, as well as patients who have complex diagnoses, such as co-occurring substance abuse, anxiety, or borderline personality disorder. Our treatment team has unique expertise in helping: young adults experiencing their first episode of mental illness, men and women struggling with midlife transitions, people who have limited insight into their mental illness, and individuals who may have physical medical needs in addition to psychiatric needs. In our adolescent programs, we specialize in treating teens ages 14 to 17 struggling with anxiety disorders, depression, and bipolar disorder.

Detox is the critical first step in the addiction treatment process that involves ridding the body of addictive substances under the guidance and care of medical professionals. The Retreat of Atlanta's Detox Program provides a safe, comfortable environment where individuals can detox prior to beginning their individualized residential or outpatient treatment programs. When appropriate, individuals are prescribed medications intended to make the detox experience as comfortable as possible. The detox treatment is done under the care of 24 hour nursing staff under the guidance of our medical director.
