Discrete, Clinically-Sophisticated Treatment

One of America's longest-running independent outpatient treatment centers, we are a New York State OASAS licensed, medically supervised recovery program located in Midtown Manhattan. We offer confidential, personalized, comprehensive and innovative care to the families and individuals affected by substance abuse, alcoholism and co-occurring mental health issues. Our clinical services focus on adults, including working professionals, young adults, and adolescents. The science-based clinical foundation for our Intensive Outpatient Services is rooted in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Relational Family Therapy. Our model is dedicated to long-term recovery and wellness for the whole family. Our licensed, multidisciplinary clinical team are trained in a wide variety of modalities, including DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based techniques, Somatic Experiencing (SE), EMDR, and Psychodrama. We are passionate about our work, and will go the extra mile to help anyone who is battling the disease of addiction.

We offer a range of services tailored to meet the needs of each client and their family, including a social-emotional wellness and prevention program, a clinically-sophisticated Intensive Outpatient Program for young adults and adults, treatment for professionals, a well-established family services team, problem gambling services, and adolescent treatment services.

Unique to Freedom Institute is the quality of care provided to each person who walks through our doors. Our groups never go higher than 10 people; some of which are staffed by two licensed clinicians. Additionally, we offer individual therapy as well as telephone coaching in our IOP. The inclusion of our comprehensive family services enables us to work with clinically complex cases. Clients benefit from our collaborative approach with other providers in the community, so our highly-trained and experienced multidisciplinary clinical team, can offer the highest quality of service.
