Equuvation at Rocky Creek Ranch offers nature-based and equine-facilitated outpatient behavioral health services. Immersed in more than five hundred acres of natural landscape, clients are able to seek alternatives to traditional talk therapy for a variety of challenges relating to trauma, abuse, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and Autism. Through the mindful development of our facility, both people and animals are able to find sanctuary here. Our team of credentialed equine specialists and licensed clinicians are highly compassionate and ethical with a passion for continuing education. We look forward to meeting you. There is a movement towards nature-based, equine and animal-assisted psychotherapy as an alternative to traditional talk therapy modalities. Medically, studies have shown horse-human interaction and time in nature to have a wide array of benefits. Equuvation offers several programs for those seeking a new approach to healing. Equine-facilitated psychotherapy (EFP) is a form of experiential psychotherapy that includes developing a relationship with horses and provides clients with opportunities to enhance self-awareness and re-pattern maladaptive behaviors, feelings and attitudes. / Nature-based therapy (or ecotherapy) is a form of psychotherapy that is focused on a connection with nature. Referring to a wide range of treatment programs that aim to improve your mental and physical well-being, ecotherapy may include working with animals, outdoor meditation and yoga, “talk therapy” while hiking/moving through the woods or simply just being present in nature on the farm. / Equuvation also offers opportunities for personal growth including leadership, team-building and self-care equine-assisted learning retreats and workshops. Equuvation was developed to be the catalyst for big ideas, innovative programs and continuing education in the equine-assisted therapies field. Based out of Rocky Creek Ranch in Statesville, NC, a naturally-rich equestrian property, Equuvation has created a safe and thoughtful space for children, teens and adults to seek healing, inspiration and education. In addition to an innate respect for our natural surroundings, horse and animal care practices are dedicated to the lifetime emotional and physical needs of the animals chosen to be partners in this work. The National Wildlife Federation Sanctuary status defines the farm as a safe space for all wildlife as well, creating a dynamic landscape full of wonder for all who visit. Lastly, as a “sensory friendly” facility, disruptive noises and distractions are kept to a minimum during sessions, and the organization is led by a team who is empathetic and highly ethical.
